"The Curbfeelers Curb Appeal Those who love American blues and soul will love Arlington-based The Curbfeelers, especially those who have a special place in their hearts for a” full band” that includes a mix of seasoned musicians playing on a variety of instruments from guitars to percussion, keyboards and harmonica, as well as tenor sax and trumpet. Every song on the Curb Appeal is a mix of soul and fun, while the band embodies a combination of Primal Scream, Black Crows and Rolling Stones. Notable vocals include Sally Swan and Pete Connell. One can’t help but think that taking in a live show would be even better. " Stockely Baksh, On Tap Magazine | ||
| "On Curb Appeal, Washington, D.C.'s Curbfeelers put forward their best collective foot. The sound (and the production) on this self-release is puchy and full, recalling '60's soul records on "Love Train" and, more often, the Rolling Stones, on "I Can't Help It", "Stranger In Need", "Stuck On You", and "Angels Cry". Harpist David Harris' "Why Was I So Blind", a 1920's style blues song by Sally Swan, is among the best tracks, as is a cover of James Carr's "Pouring Water On a Drowning Man". Grit and groove coexist nicely here..." Blues Revue Magazine" |
| The sound of the backbeat wafting through the neighborhood has created a chemistry that can't be denied; The Curbfeelers have arrived! The first time I heard The Curbfeelers was at a pig roast many years ago in some unreachable location in the Maryland hills, and at the time I was a little unsure if the world was ready for their sound. But the years of practice, the refinement of their musicianship and their mutual love of the blues has made them record-ready. Their recent performances at blues festivals have created a sound and energy that I think has been captured in this recording. The Curbfeelers, American Blues and Soul at its finest!  Jeff Severson, Producer |
